Rather than watching movies, over the last few days I watched the BBC series Jekyll. Steven Moffat is just a genius. I’m not sure how much untapped potential is left for a second series (although, after four years I guess it’s probably not gonna happen) but I would watch the fuck out of it anyway. I never came around to seeing James Nesbitt as sexy though, either as Jekyll or Hyde. Actually he was kind of good-looking in the flashbacks to meeting Claire and their early marriage. When he was wearing the glasses. I’m a sucker for guys with glasses. But I kind of laughed every time someone referenced how “sexy” he supposedly was. Even the lesbians were attracted to him! What was up with that?
And I was proud of Moffat for writing a really strong, clever, not-taking-any-shit female character in Claire! I feel like he doesn’t really do much of that.
Benjamin: Well, you did just save his life.
Hyde: No! I killed a lion. There’s a difference.
